Campos Altos is a smallholder community in Brazil's Cerrado Mineiro, the highland savannah that was the first Brazilian region to earn an official origin certification. Rich red latosol soils, a warm, stable climate and slow, sun-dried natural processing give the coffees their trademark consistency, sweetness and syrupy body. While much of the Cerrado is machine-harvested, the Red Bourbon grown here is hand-picked to protect the variety's more delicate, complex character.
