Diofanor Ruiz became a certified coffee farmer in 2003 and bought his farm, La Divisa, in Buenavista, Quindío, in 2005 — fourteen hectares at around 1,950 metres. After tasting his own coffee for the first time he turned decisively towards quality, and today he coaxes wild, expressive cups from unusual varieties like Java, Geisha, Sidra and Pink Bourbon alongside his long-standing Castillo. He has planted fruit and shade trees across La Divisa to build soil and resilience, and has become known for meticulous, quality-focused naturals.
