The Poktan Rahayu Tani farmer group works the slopes of Mount Malabar in West Java, growing at around 1,800 metres. Their naturally processed lots show the evolving quality of Indonesian coffee — dried in the fruit so slowly that the cherry lends real sweetness and complexity to the seed. The result is layered, juicy and remarkably clean, balancing lively fruit against the smooth, rounded body Java coffees are known for.
