Sebastián Ramírez is a fourth-generation grower from Quindío who left law studies to take over his father's farm, Finca El Placer, in the village of Buenos Aires de Calarcá. Across fourteen hectares between 1,650 and 2,000 metres, shaded by native trees, he has turned El Placer into a hub for experimentation — championing rare varieties like Gesha, Pink Bourbon and Aji Bourbon alongside carbonic maceration and other inventive ferments. His coffees turn up on competition tables around the world, celebrated for their precision and creativity.
